Drones have become the ultimate option for monitoring, surveying and inspection. Enel, the multinational energy company has implemented this strategy and selected Percepto's Sparrow system to monitor the Torrevaldaliga Nord power plant in Italy. The Sparrow's AI and computer vision technology will allow it to operate as independently as possible, and the collected aerial footage, photography is transmitted to Enel in real-time. "While drones are touted as the technology of the future, the ability to act autonomously unlocks their true potential, enabling them to act as a responsible, independent and smart team member that provides not only a bird's eye view of facilities, but real, actionable insights," said Percepto CEO, Dor Abuhasira. The goal is to introduce cost-effective and practical drone support to a business model attempting to continuously refine itself.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) or better called drones, are becoming quite popular. But, with its growth a very few know its proper application and operation. Elizabeth City State University opens up the drone courses as part of the four-year aviation degree. "We can train our students in all these areas and we want our graduates to be entrepreneurs," said Professor Kuldeep Rawat, Director of the ECSU aviation science program. The students in the UAV classes learn to operate and fly drones, interact with air traffic control and use different payloads and sensors. The university also plans to build an outdoor flying facility with a net, sort of like a giant batting cage. As reported by the FAA, the industry could need more than 300000 new pilots in the next five years.

The huge swell that hit the South West has been amazingly captured near Margaret River and Yallingup by Matt Durell, the local drone pilot. The captured stunning images are awe-inspiring and all thanks to the UAV and the pilot. "I saw the swell coming in and I've always wanted to fly the drone out there so I thought I'd put it up," says Durell. The three main breaks were captured via drones, namely- Cow Bombie, Yallingup's main break, and Injidup. He also adds that this was something the biggest swell he had ever filmed.
